THE SALZBURG HEIMATWORK
high-quality . Timeless . Really
Our mission statement
Tradition in the tension of the present
The Salzburger Heimatwerk is a cooperative that operates as a commercial and cultural institution, the foundation stone of which was laid in 1946. Since then, we have considered it our task to promote the folk and everyday cultural expressions and traditions of our cultural area. The focus of our activities is particularly on the preservation, maintenance and further development of traditional traditions in the areas of crafts, costume, customs, music and song.

Anyone who enters the Salzburger Heimatwerk feels a special energy, because here lived tradition is combined with visionary design in a particularly beautiful way. We provide a stage for local handicrafts, demonstrate expertise in traditional costumes and offer a representative showcase of our beautiful Salzburg region with a wide range of literature, music and culinary delights. We choose our products with great care and attention to detail. Here you can still find regional treasures that were lovingly made, mostly by hand. Our committed and friendly employees look forward to your visit and will be happy to assist you with their in-depth specialist knowledge!
The three most important Heimatwerk commandments: quality, authenticity and sustainability
CULTURAL INSTITUTION
For the common good
In contrast to other institutions, we do not claim any public funds for our diverse cultural commitment but generate them exclusively from our own entrepreneurial profitability. A positive performance balance is therefore a prerequisite for implementing the goals set as a non-profit-oriented cooperative. Sales and profits are therefore not an end in themselves, but rather a measure of the cultural and economic importance of the company in society. By the way: No dividends are distributed to the members of the Salzburger Heimatwerk cooperative; all income is invested in cultural work.

We are very honored that we were granted the right to use the Salzburg state coat of arms in 1996 - a recognition of our decades of achievements as a traditional and cultural institution, as well as a commercial and commercial establishment for the common good. The Salzburger Heimatwerk is a member of the umbrella organization of the non-profit association “Kuratorium Österreichisches Heimatwerk”, which was founded in 1952. Its aim is to promote popular and everyday cultural expressions. The Board of Trustees of Austrian Homeland Works is in turn a member of the Association of European Homeland Works - a network of institutions similar to Homeland Works throughout Europe.
